Preliminary rounds begin at Miss America Pageant

It’s shoes first, competition later as the preliminary rounds are set to get underway at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City.
The 53 contestants on Tuesday will display the shoes that they’ll wear at Saturday’s “Show Us Your Shoes” parade on the Boardwalk. The shoes have more to do with their states than fashion.
Preliminary rounds start Tuesday with the women vying for talent and swimsuit awards that will help them as they seek the Miss America crown on Sunday.
