Police: Wilmington school bomb threat ‘unfounded’

Wilmington Police have determined that a bomb threat called into a city middle school was false. 

At approximately 9:41 a.m. on Friday, police officials said the P.S. duPont Middle School received a bomb threat via telephone. The school, located on the on the 700 block of W. 34th Street, subsequently contacted police department and evacuated the building.

Patrol officers and bomb-sniffing dogs conducted a sweep of the grounds and facility, and the threat was determined to be unfounded and students have returned to class.

Wilmington Police said the incident remains under investigation.
