Police seek help solving three robberies at same 7-Eleven

The 7-Eleven convenience store located at 7720 Ogontz Ave. in Cedarbrook was robbed three times between April 21 and May 14, and Philadelphia police have released surveillance videos from each incident in the hope of catching the perpetrators.

Police are investigating whether the same pair of suspects committed all three robberies. The store clerk from the first robbery quit his job, according to a clerk working the day shift on Tuesday.

The first robbery occurred around 2 a.m. on April 21. One suspect, who wore a painter’s mask, lifted his black hooded sweatshirt and showed the store clerk the black handgun tucked in his waistband. The second suspect, in a gray hooded sweatshirt, covered his face with his forearm and walked around the counter. The clerk, who was uninjured, gave the suspects about $100 from the register before they ran off.

Then, around 12:55 a.m. on May 11, a gunman barged into the store demanding money. The store clerk activated the robbery alarm while telling the man the safe was empty. The suspect fled in an unknown direction with no money after realizing the alarm was set off.

Three days later, two men with bandanas covering their faces entered the store just after 4 a.m. and one snatched the cash-register drawer, stealing about $200. A video from the third robbery, which occured on May 14, can be seen via this link.
