Police probe fatal hit and run in Deptford, N.J.

Police in Deptford Township and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating a hit-and-run accident in which a pedestrian was struck by a pickup truck and killed.

Authorities say a 52-year-old Mantua Township man was pronounced dead at Inspira hospital after the collision on Mantua Pike. It happened shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday.

Police say a pickup truck traveling north did not stop after hitting the man, whose name has been withheld pending notification of his family. It is described as an older model Dodge with an extended cab, green or blue in color.
