Newark Police say they’ve arrested a man accused of groping and harassing women in three separate incidents near the University of Delaware campus.

26-year-old Carlos Maldonado faces charges including unlawful sexual contact, harassing and trespassing. He was arrested on Monday.

Police say they linked him to the incidents through surveillance video, witness statements and by evidence found during a search of his apartment. He was arraigned and released on $5,100 unsecured bond.

The three incidents all happened late on Friday night, April 14. The first victim, a 19-year-old female University of Delaware student, was grabbed on the buttocks and shoulder by a man around 10 p.m. in the area of Lovett Ave. and Haines St. The second incident happened about a half hour later. A 20-year-old female UD student was grabbed on her buttocks by a man as she walked along Prospect Ave. Around 11:25 p.m., two UD students were walking on N. Chapel St. when a man began following them until they reached the area of Prospect Ave. That’s when one of the walkers called police.
