Plan for new municipal building in Phoenixville making progress
The plan for a new municipal building in Phoenixville is making progress after members of the Borough Council voted this week to award a bid to a company, a move that will lead to determining the cost of the project.
The Mercury reports Borough Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to award a $22,750 contract to IMC Construction. The goal is for the company to review plans for a new borough hall building that could be located on the 300 block of Bridge Street.
The Mercury says the construction firm is currently working with the Phoenixville Area School District on a middle school project.
According to the report, plans for the new building previously made in 2005 were deemed “economically infeasible.” IMC Construction will allow the borough to review the existing plan to determine if a redesign would be needed, according to The Mercury.
