Philly’s Greenworks plan: sustainability as the ‘new norm’

In 2009, Mayor Michael Nutter launched an ambitious plan with his oft-quoted goal of making Philadelphia “the greenest city in America.” He created the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability to carry out the project, and compile an annual report card.

The fifth report will be unveiled on Thursday at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia. Sustainability Director Katherine Gajewski spoke with NewsWorks Tonight’s Dave Heller about the plans successes and shortfalls to date.
