PETA gives Philly’s Citizen’s Bank Park nod as most vegetarian-friendly ballpark

After a run of four consecutive titles before being bumped last year, the Citizens Bank Park has retaken first place in PETA’s list of the Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Ballparks.

Philly’s heavy hitters include the meatless “Pit Beef,” vegan chicken steak, faux-chicken patty sandwich, and Italian vegetable grinder.

Climbing to a strong second place after receiving only an honorable mention in last year’s competition is Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners. Vegan specialties include the IchiBan veggie dog with teriyaki-glazed onions, grated daikon and carrot, shredded nori, and creamy vegan dressing; the Seattle chili veggie dog with vegan cream cheese; pasta with vegetables; and tangy hummus.

Multiple Major League Baseball stadiums have also started serving vegan sloppy Joes made with tempeh, called “Sloppy Janes.”
