Passionate discussion on potential of Harrisburg and other Pa. cites at Keystone Crossroads forum

We had a great turnout last night at the Keystone Crossroads public forum at WITF in Harrisburg.

Educators, public officials, community leaders and concerned citizens shared their thoughts with each other and the Keystone Crossroads team.

Led by Penn Project for Civic Engagement, participants answered questions about their communities:

What would you tell the next governor of Pennsylvania to do if you had his attention for 30 seconds? (“stop the  corruption!”, “more money to promote Pennsylvania tourism,” “more money to fund education”)
If you had a generous grant to improve your community, who would you give it to? (“more resources for Pennsylvania’s aging population”)
What does the media do well and where are we falling short? (“stop sticking microphones in front of people on the street and asking them what they think!” “what if the media covered education like they cover sports?”)
What comes to mind when we say “Harrisburg?” (“not reaching full potential,” “state capitol,” “jobs” ) or “Lancaster” (“arts,” “agricultural,” “urban sprawl”)
