One dead in Delaware fire

A man has died after being pulled from a fire that damaged three homes in Wilmington.

New Castle County Paramedics say firefighters freed the 52-year-old man from one of the homes after he became trapped in the Monday night fire. The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition for burns and smoke inhalation.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office said Tuesday that the man died about three hours after the fire was reported. His name was not released.

About 75 firefighters fought the fire that spread to three homes. Two other people were treated for smoke inhalation and are expected to be OK.
