Olympic fever in Delaware

Delaware starts the Olympic celebration a little early, recognizing a pair of athletes with connections to the First State.

Lewes native Maren Langford is on the USA Field Hockey team roster, and swimmer Andrew Gemmell who grew up in Wilmington will compete in the Olympic trials in Omaha before the London games start at the end of July.  Delaware Governor Jack Markell will sign a proclamation to commemorate Olympic Day in Delaware.  Next week, the Delaware Sports Commission along with the University of Delaware will host a series of sports exhibitions with events scheduled at First State BMX in Milford, Suburban Swim League in New Castle County, Monte Ross Basketball Camp at Siegel JCC in Wilmington, Coach Tina Martin Girls Basketball Camp at UD and the Wilmington Youth Rowing Association in Wilmington.
