Obama traveling to North Philly to stump for Wolf

President Barack Obama is traveling to North Philadelphia Sunday to stump for Democratic gubernatorial nominee Tom Wolf.
Obama will headline a campaign event at Temple University as polls show Wolf leading incumbent Republican Gov. Tom Corbett by double-digit percentage points.
Political consultant Larry Ceisler said even though Obama’s job approval ratings are low, the rally will be a boost for Wolf’s campaign.
“I think Obama in the city of Philadelphia is still strong, and it’s about turning out voters in the city of Philadelphia,” said Ceisler. “There are other parts of the country where I’m sure Democrats have told Barack Obama, ‘We don’t want you here.’ This is probably one place where he’s wanted.'”
Republicans said Wolf’s ties to Obama will hurt him outside of Philadelphia, where the president has considerably less support.
Obama’s evening visit to the city could lead to minor traffic delays.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is expected to campaign for Corbett Sunday in Philadelphia’s suburbs.
