Classic Albums Live: Abbey Road

Classic Albums Live takes the classic rock albums you love and recreates them live, on stage – note for note, cut for cut. Join us as Classic Albums Live presents the landmark Beatles album Abbey Road, featuring such favorite songs as “Come Together,” “Here Comes the Sun,” “Oh Darling,” and more. The first of three Beatles-related engagements! The Grand, November 26th, 8 P.M.

 

 

Christmas Past

Join us for a lively presentation of the holiday traditions of Christmas past, with an emphasis on the Civil War era. From 5 to 6:45 p.m., enjoy a rare opportunity to see the du Pont family residence decked for Christmas in the glow of evening twilight. Holiday Card Etching Demonstration

Etching involves the magic of incising lines and tonal values into a plate in such a manner that they hold ink. When these plates are run through an etching press with dampened paper on top they produce an image on the paper. We will explore some of the techniques involve in this age old process that remains popular among graphic artists today using a holiday themed image in the spirit of the season! Lunch will be provided. Biggs Museum of American Art, November 30th, 12 P.M.

 

 

Washington National Opera

Overseen by Plácido Domingo, the Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program is unique in guiding young singers, coaches/accompanists, conductors, and stage directors on the verge of international careers. $10 per person.
