Northwood Academy Charter’s new wing unites all students under one roof

It’s been six years since all of Northwood Academy Charter School‘s students attended class on a single campus.

With Tuesday’s dedication of a new wing, all 788 students will now learn at 4621 Castor Ave.

The school opened in 2005, but soon outgrew its space. Students, faculty and staff began Tuesday with a procession around the building and into the new wing for kindergarten through third-graders. Aside from the education space, the new wing also includes a gym and cafeteria.

Joining NACS Board President Valerie Jefferson for the ribbon-cutting were CEO Amy Hollister, Principals Cindy Carey and Patricia Mychack and Rep. John Taylor’s Chief of Staff, Marc Collazzo.
