Even though today is a holiday, there is regular trash pickup in the city of Philadelphia.

Because of the snowstorms, trash collections were canceled Thursday and Friday last week.

To catch up, Mayor Nutter says the city is sending the garbage trucks out today, but with some changes for those who have their trash picked up in their driveways.

“All driveway trash and recycling collections are suspended,” Nutter said. “We are asking residents to place their collections curbside on their regular collection day. If Monday is your regular collection day place your collections out and we will maintain normal collections.”

Nutter says the city is going to work a normal week, instead of delaying pick-ups by one day as usually would happen during a week with a holiday.
