NJ casino workers to march against Icahn

The Trump Taj Mahal casino has posted notices on its premises and its website letting customers know it plans to shut down on Dec. 12.

Wednesday’s move came hours before hundreds of Atlantic City casino workers planned to rally against the shutdown and billionaire investor Carl Icahn’s role in the process.

Local 54 of the Unite-HERE union will march from the Taj Mahal to the Tropicana — which Icahn owns.

It would become the fifth of Atlantic City’s 12 casinos to close this year.

Trump Entertainment Resorts plans to hand itself over to Icahn in return for him forgiving $286 million in debt he owns.

Icahn has said he will invest $100 million into the casino, but only with substantial state aid that thus far has not materialized.
