A newly released video contains previously widely unseen footage of Superstorm Sandy’s strike at the Jersey Shore.

The video, posted on YouTube on the fifth year anniversary of the storm, shows waves breaching dunes, water on streets, the glow from a massive fire along the northern Ocean County barrier island, and the destruction after the storm.

Shot in Normandy Beach, the video weaves in scenes before, during, and after Sandy’s landfall, including the glow from the Camp Osborn fire that destroyed dozens of cottages.

Normandy Beach is split between Toms River and Brick townships. The surrounding area suffered catastrophic damage during the storm.
