Newark skate spots moving forward

Workshop planned to discuss two new skate parks coming soon to Newark.  In January, Newark City Council awarded Grindline Skateparks of Seattle a contract to design and build to skate spots, one at Handloff Park and the other at Phillips Park.  Today’s workshop is being held to get input from skaters who will eventually use the skate facilities.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the George Wilson Center on New London Road.

Newark has $160,000 to fund the project thanks in part to a grant from the Delaware Land and Water Conservation Trust Fund and a private donation of $40,000.
