New search warrant executed at AG Kane’s office

Detectives from Montgomery County have executed a new search warrant on the office of Attorney General Kathleen Kane.

The detectives showed up at the office in Harrisburg on Thursday, more than 40 days after Kane was charged with perjury, obstruction and other offenses related to her alleged leak of confidential information from a 2009 grand jury investigation.

The charges against Kane also came from an investigation by Montgomery County prosecutors.

Kane spokesman Chuck Ardo says he does not know whether the investigation involves the attorney general herself.

Kane has denied breaking any laws. She also faces an effort by an ethics board to have her law license suspended.

When the charges were announced in early August, Montgomery County Prosecutor Risa Ferman said she was still investigating allegations Kane fired a prosecutor whose testimony was used against her.
