New Jersey Assembly will vote on teen sexting bill today

The New Jersey Assembly will vote today on a Camden-based sexting bill. The legislation proposes a diversionary program for teens in lieu of prosecution.

Introduced by Camden Assemblywoman Pam Lampitt, the bill is meant for first-time sexters — teens who use their cell phones or computers to send or post lewd photos, the Associated Press reports.

The bill is supposed to teach teens the consequences of their actions, instead of creating a permanent criminal record.
