New C & D Canal recreation trail gets a name

Delaware’s congressional delegation gathers today to break ground on a new recreation trail along the C & D Canal.

The name of the 16-mile mixed-use trail will also be formally unveiled.  Senators Chris Coons and Tom Carper and Congressman John Carney will be joined by representatives from the Federal Highway Administration, the US Army Corps of Engineers and Delaware Departments of Transportation and Natural Resources at the event.  The trail is expected to create new opportunities for hiking, bicycling, jogging, skating, horseback-riding and bird-watching.
