Neighborhood horses causing smelly problem in Southwest Philadelphia

If your neighbor asked you if it was okay to keep a horse in their backyard, what would you say?

According to Philly.com, that very question was asked in a Southwest Philadelphia neighborhood 10 years ago.  Now, Philly.com reports one horse kept in the backyard has turned into five.

The animals are now causing quite the stink on the 8100 block of Pontiac Avenue.

According to the report, neighbors are losing their patience and are now questioning if it’s even legal to have so many animals.

Philly.com says there are three ponies and two horses living in the backyard of a home in the neighborhood.

The city’s Department of Licenses and Inspections has since issued the owners of the home two vilations for not having the proper zoning permits.

The owners of the home tell Philly.com they are confident the violations will be dismissed in court.
