This is video taken by the New Jersey National Guard on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. It shows the extent of the flood damage in Ocean Beach, N.J., a community north of Seaside Heights. This 58 miles east of Philadelphia.
This section of the island features a neighborhood that normally has sandy roads and no yards. But you can see how hard Sandy battered some of the beach front properties. According to Zillow, most of the beach front homes you see have a market value between $700,000-$800,000. The homes behind them are estimated in the $300,000 range.
