Naked man accused of punching police officer

Numerous charges have been filed against a naked southern New Jersey man accused of punching a police officer and trying to driver off in his cruiser.

Lindenwold police say the officer was interviewing two people in a condominium complex Tuesday night when 28-year-old borough resident Byron Neville ran up and punched him in the face. The officer tried to arrest Neville, but he broke free and jumped into the officer’s car.

Another officer soon arrived and Neville was removed from the car. He then broke free and ran off, but was captured after a short foot pursuit.

Believing Neville was under the influence of drugs, he was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.
