Mount Airy Home Companion excerpt: Neal Phillips and Sam Rossitto performance

This is another excerpt frpm Mount Airy Home Companion presented at the Allens Lane Art Center on May 27, 2012 in Philadelphia. This was a production by humorist Jim Harris and his band Saint Mad and actors from The Mount Airy Players.

“Mount Airy Home Companion” is a localized spin-off of the public radio show A Prarie Home Companion. In this version, Harris pokes fun at all thigns Mt. Airy. Every stereotype you can think of. There is the neighborhood’s obsession with public radio, on-stage actors are part of a show called “Hot Air,”  there is an on-going skit about Weavers Way being a cult run by Glenn Bergman, and there’s constant jabs at Mt. Airy’s presumed fixation on tofu.

NewsWorks recorded the show and over the summer we’ll be presenting excerpts here.

Today’s video features a song by Neal Phillips and Sam Rossitto called Second Star to the Right.
