Mitros hearing scheduled for August

Gregory Mitros, the Manayunk man charged with the murder of his wife, Lynda Karlin-Mitros, was not granted a waiver by the Commonwealth this morning at the Criminal Justice Center on Filbert Street.

The 52-year-old man had been put on status for a potential waiver after the first preliminary hearing July 6.  Mitros, who is being held without bail, is attempting to be held with bail, according to a court employee.

The Commonwealth asked for further investigation regarding the case.  The hearing will take place Aug. 2 at 9:30 a.m.

Mitros was charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing his wife on June 20. Police found her body at the bottom of the staircase in the couple’s home on the 100 block of Markle Street.  She had a gunshot wound to the head.
