Miss Delaware gets send-off for Miss America Pageant

Miss Delaware Kayla Martell is on her way to the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas for next weekend’s competition.
The Miss Delaware organization invited supporters to gather outside the University of Delaware Cooperative Extension Office in Dover to see Martell get on the bus that would take her to the airport.

Martell says her message at the pagent will be the same as it has been since she was first crowned Miss Delaware this past spring.  She wants people to know that she has alopecia areata.  The disease causes people to lose their hair.  Martell first lost hers at age 11.
