Military officials say council candidate embellished miltary career

    David Oh says because he would have been sent with the 20th Special Forces Group when it was called to active duty in 1991 and anticipated being deployed to Iraq for Operation Desert Storm, he is a former Special Forces officer and Green Beret.

    Military officers disagree with that statement, which Oh has repeated in his campaign for a Republican City Council-at-large seat.

    But Oh never went on that mission, because the war ended, and according to the officers the Daily News spoke with, Oh did not complete the required Special Forces Qualification Courses.
