Mayor paints green stripe on King Street

As part of the annual St. Patrick’s Day tradition, Wilmington Mayor James Baker will paint a green stripe down a portion of King Street.
The stripe marks a portion of the route for Saturday’s St. Patrick’s Day parade. The parade starts at noon on Saturday at the intersection of 4th and King Street. It will continue to 15th Street. Local Irish dance schools, string bands and high school bands will march along with leprechauns, clowns and floats. Because of the festivities, King Street between 4th and 15th Streets will be closed to most traffic between 10 AM and 4 PM on Saturday.
