Mayor Nutter visits after-school program in West Oak Lane [gallery]

Monday wasn’t just the first day of Philadelphia public schools being open. It also marked the start of after-school programs.

And, Mayor Michael Nutter was among those who headed over to the Philadelphia Center for Arts and Technology center in West Oak Lane for its “fall program preview and open house.”

The event featured demonstrations of student work and tours of “our state-of-the-art 25,000 square foot facility.”

PCAT, a Foundations Inc. initiative, describes itself as “a vibrant community learning center located in the heart of Northwest Philadelphia that fosters engaged and well-rounded citizens by offering children, youth, and adults the academic and enrichment opportunities they need to build confidence and 21st century skills.”
