Markell signs bills to help hearing impaired residents

Governor Markell will sign a pair of bills designed to improve services for Delawareans with deafness, hearing loss or speech disabilities.
Senate Bill 248 provides those with hearing loss or speech disabilities with telecommunications service for analog phones.  House Bill 384 updates the state’s screening requirements for tracking and intervening for children who are diagnosed with a need for hearing services.  It also creates the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Advisory Board.
