March slots revenue down slightly at Pa. casinos
Pennsylvania gaming regulators say gross slots revenue was down slightly last month compared to a record-setting March 2012, but it was still the state’s second-highest month ever for slots revenue.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board says the 11 casinos generated $229.3 million in gross slots revenue last month.That’s down 1.6 percent from last March, when the casinos set a state record with $233.1 million.
Last month’s total, however, is now the second-highest monthly gross slots machine revenue since the first casino opened in 2006. It surpasses the $218.3 million from July 2011.
The state’s eleventh casino, Valley Forge Casino Resort, opened last March, but was only open for one full day and two test nights. When comparing only casinos open during both full months, gross slots revenue was down 3.9 percent.
