Man in custody after Atlantic City standoff
Police say an Atlantic City man who shot at them and barricaded himself in a home is in custody.
The standoff ended early Wednesday after 35-year-old Christopher Gerace ran naked out the back door of his parents’ home and was subdued.
Police responded to the home in the Chelsea Heights section late Tuesday night after receiving reports of shots fired.
Officers surrounded the home and made contact with Gerace.
His mother told The Press of Atlantic City her son is a veteran who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Donna Gerace says the police department did an excellent job.
