Macy’s becomes first department store to print recyclable gift cards

Seems everything is recyclable these days, and now department stores are getting in on the action.

Macy’s will be the first to print recyclable gift cards, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal. Sort of a big deal for the Delaware Valley because, well, we have Macy’s stores.
Instead of cutting up the card or handing it over the cashier when you’ve maxed it out, you’ll be able to drop the card right into the recycling bucket. Cards will be process and re-printed to make new cards.

Now when your mother-in-law hates her gift she can recycle it instead of throwing it away.
