Laurel extends curfew at Carvel Gardens

Laurel extends curfew at Carvel Gardens for now.

The curfew which bans non-residents of the apartment complex was put in place in February following an outbreak of violent crime and suspected gang activity.  The curfew was set to be lifted last night, but Laurel Town Council approved an extension of the curfew until the summer.  The ban keeps non-residents out of Carvel Gardens and Carvel Gardens Annex Apartments between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.  Violators of the curfew face fines of at least $500 and/or 30 days in prison.
