Kayaker reported missing in the Delaware River

Coast Guard crews are searching for a kayaker who went missing in the Delaware River in Gloucester County.

Authorities say a woman called police shortly before 3 p.m. Saturday to report that her husband was missing. She said he had been kayaking on the river and that when she turned to look out to him, the kayak was empty.

The search for the man is in the waters off of Beach Hill Road in National Park, New Jersey in Gloucester County.

The man’s name has not been released.

Authorities say a Coast Guard dive team entered the water around 3:15 p.m. and is continuing its search.
