Jusst Sooup Ministry in Delaware gets ‘Extreme Makeover’

Over the next week, workers from the ABC show Extreme Makeover Home Edition will be in Sussex County, building a new facility for Jusst Sooup.

Rev. Dale Dunning got the surprising news this morning that she was selected by the show to get a new home for her ministry to the less fortunate.  Over the past decade, Dunning has handed out more than 65,000 bowls of soup through her Jusst Sooup ministry in Lewes.  The construction will take place on Route 9 in Cool Springs.  The location was donated to Dunning by Schell Brothers construction company earlier this year.

It’s not the first time Dunning’s received national attention.  In 2009, she was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show highlighting Heroes in Hard Times.  WHYY visited Dunning around that time, for an inside look at what drives her to give so much to so many in need.
