Monday, July 8, 11:45am-12:30pm, Independence Square, 6th and Walnut Streets. Be part of the cheering crowd as a costumed park ranger reads the Declaration of Independence outside of Independence Hall on the 237th anniversary of the first public reading of the document. Free.

RELAX: Jazz at Cliveden

Wednesday, July 10, 6-8pm. Cliveden, 6401 Germantown Ave. Enjoy a mix of history and jazz by Sol Unlimited Jazz & Arts out on Cliveden’s lawn hosted by Jerry Wells and featuring Sol Unlimited Orchestra. There will be food vendors and local crafters and artisans selling their work. BYO seating/blanket. $5, $3 or Students, free for kids under 12.

DISCUSS: CHOP’s Eastern Expansion @ DAG

Thursday, July 11, 8am (sharp!). Center for Architecture, 1218 Arch Street. At this month’s Design Advocacy Group meeting learn about the proposal from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to build a huge new complex on the eastern side of the Schuylkill just south of the South Street Bridge. James Templeton and George Claflen will lead the discussion by reviewing the public information made available by CHOP. All are welcome.

PLAN: 1st Meeting for Central Northeast District Plan

Thursday, July 11, 7pm. Knowlton Mansion 8001 Verree Road. Join Planning Commission staff and neighbors to discuss current conditions in the Central Northeast District, learn about the planning process, and start a discussion about future development, zoning changes, and future public investment priorities. All are welcome.
