Investigation underway into Sunday house fire that killed 74-year-old Brick, NJ man

Investigators have not yet been able to determine what caused an Ocean County house fire that killed a Brick Township man and injured his wife.

Al Della Fave, a spokesman for the county prosecutor’s office, says an investigation into Sunday’s early morning blaze remains ongoing.

Investigators are waiting for autopsy results on 74-year-old Robert Kanwisher. His 63-year-old wife, Debra, is recovering from injuries sustained in the fire.

The home had to be razed on Sunday because it was in danger of collapse.
