Indian culture celebrated in Newark

A celebration of Indian culture takes over the Bob Carpenter Center in Newark this weekend for the annual IndiaFest.  The day-long festival runs from 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. at the Bob on the University of Delaware campus.  Run by volunteers from the Indo-American Association of Delaware, the purpose of IndiaFest is to celebrate India’s cultural diversity.  This year’s theme, Festivals of India, will provide a glimpse into regional festivals held in different areas of India.  Activities include a meditation workshop, and of course, no cultural festival would be complete without a sampling of traditional Indian food.
