Imhotep Panthers dominant in 50-0 win over Mastery North [gallery]

Fueled by a 43-point second quarter, the Imhotep Institute Charter High School Panthers football team coasted to victory over the Mastery North Pumas on Saturday night at the Germantown Super Site.

Panthers quarterback Andre Dreuitt-Parks threw for two touchdowns (to Naseir Upshur and DJ Moore) while Tyliek Raynor and Mike Waters each rushed for six points.

Rounding out the scoring were three interceptions returned for touchdowns (two by Seifuddin Black and the other by Mike Crawford).

The convincing victory lifted Imhotep‘s record to 4-1 and dropped Mastery to 2-3.

For his part, Imhotep Head Coach Albie Crosby wasn’t entirely happy with the game.

“We gotta start working a little harder,” he told NewsWorks, citing leadership breakdowns and a need to get younger players into the games as well.

Playing at Gratz Stadium at the same time on Saturday night, the MLK Cougars lost to Ben Franklin High 40-6. Their season record fell to 2-3 (2-1 in the conference).
