Household hazardous waste pilot program in NCCo

The Delaware Solid Waste Authority starts its new household hazardous waste pilot program in New Castle County today.

 

 

DSWA will provide collection of household hazardous waste every Wednesday over a six-month period at the Delaware Recycling Center. Hours of collection are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine. The DRC is located at 1101 Lambsons Lane in New Castle.

Household hazardous waste can include items such as household cleaners, garden pesticides, oil-based paints only (no latex paint will be accepted), nail polish, fluorescent bulbs, or antifreeze.

During the event DSWA will not be able to accept any ammunition, prescription medication or sharps (needles). This event is restricted to Delaware residents only; no commercial services will be accepted.
