Holiday tree lighting, caroling and Santa in Manayunk on Friday

This Friday, Manayunk’s Canal View Park will transform into a holiday spectacle of sorts for the neighborhood’s official tree lighting ceremony.

The family-friendly ‘White Friday’ event will feature caroling, led by the Salvation Army Brass Band, holiday music and a Nicole Miller bridal show. Santa Clause will also make a guest appearance for the little ones.

Manayunk Development Corporation officials will join Councilman Bill Green and IBEW Local 98 Business Manager John J. Doughtery, whose union provided underwriting for Main Street’s new Christmas tree lights, for the event.

The festivities start at 6 p.m. at the park located at Main and Cresson streets in Manayunk .
