Holiday salutations and a few lines of wisdom
Most of you are opening gifts; the rest of you are jonesing for a movie and a Chinese meal. So I’ll be quick with the holiday salutations. Peace on earth to all my readers.
It’s been a wild year, disturbing in ways I need not recount. But rather than strain for a few lines of wisdom, I’ll cede the floor to John Lennon. The keepers of The Beatles’ flame have given us the best of all holiday gifts – this week, for the first time, all their work has been posted on the streaming music sites – and I’ve already rediscovered songs I hadn’t heard in decades. So for a few lines of wisdom, for a little look-back perspective on life in 2015, here’s Lennon from “I’ve Got A Feeling”:
Everybody had a hard year Everybody had a good time Everybody had a wet dream Everybody saw the sunshine
Everybody had a good year Everybody let their hair down Everybody pulled their socks up Everybody put their foot down
Happy holidays, and best wishes for another hard and good year.
