Hearings begin for Delaware Fiscal Year 2013 budget

Hearings get underway today to begin the Fiscal Year 2013 budget process in Delaware.

The Office of Management and Budget is hearing the spending concerns of various state agencies in preparation for developing Governor Markell’s recommended budget.  Members of the public also have the opportunity to express their views at the hearings.  The Children’s Department will outline its priorities today starting at 9:00 a.m. in the Senate chambers of Legislative Hall in Dover.  Budget-writers gather Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. to hear requests concerning Health and Social Services.  Other state agencies will be represented at hearings throughout the month.
