Forum to explore impact of Affordable Care Act on small businesses

A panel of healthcare experts will be in Mount Airy on Tuesday to help small businesses understand how President Obama’s Affordable Care Act will affect their operations.

The event, organized by the Business Association of Mt. Airy, Small Business Majority and the National Physician’s Alliance, will provide information on, among other things, small business tax credits, the state’s health insurance exchange and wellness grants. Participants will also have an opportunity to have their questions answered by panelists.

“This interactive dialogue is a great way for them to get the information they need to take advantage of and comply with key provisions of the new law,” said Elizabeth Moselle, Director of Commercial Corridor Revitalization and the Business Association of Mt. Airy at Mt. Airy USA, in a news release.

Dr. Valerie Arkoosh, president of the National Physicians Alliance, will be among Tuesday evening’s panelists. Arkoosh, a local resident, heads the multi-specialty physician organization, which promotes physicians beng active in their communities.
