Funding to help fight obesity

The Delaware Community Foundation will present $25,000 in grants to nonprofit groups working towards reducing childhood obesity.

DCF’s The Next Generation Grants Committee selected groups who support wellness, education and physical activity to keep young people from becoming overweight.

Groups receiving grants this year include the Delaware Adolescent Program ($7,100), Girl Scouts of Chesapeake Bay Council ($3,300), Girls, Inc of Delaware ($2,500), Girls on the Run ($5,000), and Sussex Child Health Promotion Coalition ($7,100).
