Former Norge Appliances becoming Bainbridge Street Barrel House

Bella Vista’s former Norge Appliance store – with its distinctive yellow sign – has sat vacant for years. But this week there’s been a lot of action at the corner of 6th and Bainbridge as construction crews got busy with demolition work and what looks like the beginning of interior framing.

Here’s what it looked like on Thursday:

The early word from Meal Ticket and a Grub Street tidbit  confirm that all of the work we’ve been seeing there lately is to make way for the Bainbridge Street Barrel House, a new gastro-pub coming soon. The new restaurant will focus on – what else – things crafted in barrels. Think wine, bourbon, aged beer, pickles. Presumably apartments will go on the upper floors. Stay tuned, Bella Vista.
