Former Delaware head football coach takes job in Texas

It’s been a year since K.C. Keeler was fired from the University of Delaware and now the former Blue Hens head football coach has announced a new job.
Keeler has accepted a head coaching position at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
“This is a tremendously exciting opportunity for me and my family,” Keeler said in a statement. “We’re coming to an university that not only has enjoyed outstanding football success recently but also is growing as an academic institution.”
Keeler was hired by UD in 2002 to replace University of Delaware football legend Tubby Raymond.
After 11 seasons, Keeler was let go after a disappointing 2012-2013 season which ended with a four game losing streak. That’s the longest in team history since 1987.
During Keeler’s time at Delaware, the Blue Hens posted an 86-52 record and went 11-3 in the program’s four trips to the FCS playoffs.
Super Bowl XLVII MVP quarterback Joe Flacco and four other NFL draft picks were coached under Keeler during his time at UD.
