Delaware’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream Festival at Rockwood Park will be featured on the Food Network next week.

The Sept. 15 episode of “Eating America” highlights the festival’s “Best Sundae on Sunday” contest. The University of Delaware’s UDairy Creamery won the competition.

Host Anthony Anderson and a Food Network film crew spent time at the ice cream festival in June filming operations at several of the ice cream shops and dairies that participated in the competition.

“We were thrilled that the Food Network chose to feature our ice cream festival,” said Barry Schlecker, who organized and co-sponsored the festival with New Castle County. “We believe this episode of the show will demonstrate that we truly rank among the top food festivals in the nation.”
